Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s captain confident to win against Ireland

Bangladesh ‘A’ team will face Ireland ‘A’ team in a 4-day match at Sylhet International Stadium which will be started from tomorrow. Tigers will also play 5 ODIs against the same team.

Nazmul Hasan Shanto who has already proved his ability in the age-level cricket will lead the side. Before the 4-day match, Shanto had a chat with Kaler Kontho on Sunday where he had talked about the preparation of his team and the approach for this series.

It will be his first official series as a captain of Bangladesh ‘A’ team although the young opening batsman was the vice-captain of Bangladesh u-19 Cricket team and captained the HP squad in England.

Shanto told Kaler Kontho, “I was the captain of u-19 team in a series against South Africa. Apart from that, I captained the HP squad in the recently concluded tour in England. I enjoy the job of captaincy.”

He added, “Our team is a balanced one. All the players have played with each other and so the understanding is really good among the boys. We have a versatile bowling line-up. We have some fantastic batsmen like Sadman and Nurul Hasan. So, I think the job will be easy for me.”

Left-handed batsman also said, “The wicket is good here and we played here a lot. Our u-19 team has recently lost here against Afghanistan but I am not thinking about that. Our opponent team has some experienced players in their team who have the experience of playing ODI cricket.”

Nazmul Hasan Shanto concluded, “I’ll try my best to play well. I am hoping to see patient knocks from our batsmen and hopefully our bowlers will bowl according to the plan.”
