Noakhali’s Yasir Arafat Mishu who is a regular member of Bangladesh u-19 team, has been recently picked up by Chittagong Vikings for the upcoming season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
While talking to the media on Sunday, the young cricketer showed his excitement for this huge opportunity and said that he would try harder to perform well in BPL.
Mishu said, “I am very happy to get a chance in such a big tournament. I thought the Under-19 players would not be called. As an under-19 player, such tournament will help me in the World Cup. If I can take this experience to the World Cup, it will be very helpful for me.”
He added, “The players who will be playing the tournament will get a plus point as they will remain in a flow before the World Cup. Because before the World Cup, we have no series. After the Asia Cup, we will only have practice sessions. So this is obviously a plus point.”
Apart from Yasir Arafat, four more players from u-19 team were picked up by the BPL franchises. The young all-rounder is happy to see his team mates getting such opportunities.
Mishu concluded, “I am feeling good that I’m not alone. I have four other players along with me who are my team-mates and my friends too. But I would have been more happy if more players were picked.”
