After finishing Chittagong’s conditioning camp, Tigers have already reached Dhaka and their final phase of the training camp has been started on Sunday at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
It has been learnt that, the bowlers are having a tough session from Morning and the batsmen will have a similar session in afternoon. Meanwhile, the star opener, Tamim Iqbal is not with the team as he got hurt severely in Chittagong.
During the conditioning camp in Chittagong, Tigers played a warm-up game where Tamim were dismissed after scoring 29 runs in the first day. He was playing brilliantly but a misunderstanding with his partner, Mominul Haque resulted into a run out and Tamim had to go back to the dressing room.
The incident happened after Tamim’s dismissal. The left-handed opener became so disappointed that he hit the glass-door of the dressing room with his bat and the door was damaged after that.
Then he pushed that glass-door to enter into the dressing room and the door broke down. Tamim couldn’t control his balance and he fell down on the broken pieces of the glass-door.
After that, Tamim got injured although his helmet was in his head and his batting pad was still in his legs which saved him for severe injury. He has four stitches on his stomach owing to the injury. The vice-captain of the Test team had informed the media that he will probably need 5-day rest for getting fully fit.
He said, “The moment I pushed on the door the glass broke entirely. I fell to the ground as well and if anyone saw the state of my pads, they would know how dangerous the accident could have been.”
Due to this incident, Tamim has not joined the conditioning camp today but his team mates are there. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraz are still in West Indies for Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
