In an event organised by Bangladeshi expatriates in New York on Friday, Bangladesh all-rounder and T-20I captain, Shakib Al Hasan said that he wanted to help Tigers to clinch the ICC World Cup before his retirement.
While speaking about his dream in that event, Shakib said, “If I remain fit, I want to play for another 10 years. I have one dream. I want to win the World Cup for Bangladesh before my retirement.”
He added, “Bangladesh Cricket Team now has the ability to win against any team in the world and we are heading towards the right direction.”
Left-arm spinner also said that he was so excited for the upcoming two-match Test series against Australia which will started from 27th August in Mirpur. Shakib has also expressed his hope that the new players will bring more glory for Bangladesh.
While he was asked about his two most significant moments of his life, left-handed batsman said, “The saddest experience was the misery of losing by two runs against Pakistan in 2012 Asia Cup Final and the birth of daughter gave the happiest moment of my life.”
The cricketer also shared his experiences about the Bollywood superstar, Shahrukh Khan who is the owner of Shakib’s Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Shakib said that Shahrukh Khan helped him to become a good husband and father.
The best all-rounder concluded, “He is a very humble and friendly person and pays great attention to Bangladesh cricket. Whenever we speak he discusses our team’s performances and talks of the great potential of Bangladesh.”
