Bangladesh Cricket team have been working hard in the conditioning camp for the upcoming two-match Test series against the mighty Australia and Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Operation Committee Chairman and former skipper, Akram Khan is happy with that preparation.
A 29-man preliminary squad started the conditioning camp in Mirpur but recently the camp was shifted to Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong as Bangladesh will play the 2nd Test in this ground and it will help them to cope up easily.
While talking to the media on Wednesday, Akram Khan seemed very happy with the Tigers and he thinks Bangladesh will be able to show fantastic performance in the upcoming series.
He said, “Players have been working hard for more than 1 month and the condition of their fitness is brilliant. I have talked to the Physio and saw the report too which was really impressive. They didn’t get more time for batting and bowling but they used the time perfectly.”
Akram added, “Hopefully we’ll get good result in the Test series. In our last Test match, we won against Sri Lanka and that will inspire up.”
Meanwhile, former right-handed batsman also ensured that the spin bowling coach, Stuart MacGill would join the team soon.
He said, “We are waiting for a clearance and trying hard to get the former Aussie spinner as soon as possible. MacGill himself badly wants to join us quickly.”
However, the former skipper also talked about Mushfiqur’s role in the Test side. He hinted that Sohan or Liton could be selected in the playing XI for decreasing the pressure from the Test captain.
Akram Khan concluded, “Liton or Sohan can be selected for keeping. The team management will take the decision for this. But to give more concentration on batting, Mushfiq may play as a batsman only.”
