Two teams from Bangladesh are all set to participate in the upcoming Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup. It will be the sixth season of the world tournament which will be started from 10th August in Sri Lanka with 12 teams from 7 countries.
Sri Lankan Lawyers’ Cricket Club will organize this year’s tournament. The tournament was held in India on 2007 and 2013, in England on 2009, in West Indies on 2011 and the last year’s tournament was held in Australia. In the last year, Bangladesh Lawyer’s Cricket team participated in this tournament for the first time.
Apart from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, England, Australia, West Indies and Pakistan will participate in this year’s tournament. Bangladesh Lawyers’ Cricket Club (BLCC) is arranging everything for the two teams, Bangladesh and Bangladesh ‘B’. Both the teams will fly for Sri Lanka on 8th August.
The representative for both these teams, Nabeel Ahsan said to the reporters, “The Motto of this tournament is ‘Cricket for Friendship’. Lawyers from different countries will take part in this tournament. It will be helpful to build a strong network.”
The lawyers who used to play in their childhood have been selected for two Bangladesh teams. Nilshagor group is the co-sponsor of both teams for this tournament.
