Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have recently taken initiative to find talented cricketers from grass-root level and groom them for the national level.
As a part of that initiative, an age-group cricketers’ talent hunt has begun today (Saturday) at the Shahid Miraz-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj. More than 400 players from 14 to 18 years of age from seven upazilas in Manikganj are taking part in this initiative.
Convener of the cricket sub-committee of Manikganj District Sports Association (DSA), Golam Sarwar Sanu has informed that 35 players will be selected from them. Meanwhile, he has also said that 5 others will be wait-listed.
BCB coach, Zakir Hasan and chief coach of Manikganj DSA, Paresh Malakar are part of this program. After judging everyone’s caliber, they will select the 40 players.
It has been learnt that the selection program will run till afternoon.
