Bangladesh are currently facing the home team, Ireland in their third match of the tri-nation series in Malahide, Dublin which is a must win game for the Tigers.
At the beginning of the match, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss for Bangladesh and he has elected to bowl first. The pitch is lot greener and it was a sunny day in the beginning.
Rubel Hossain started the bowling for Bangladesh. On the other hand, Paul Stirling and Ed Joyce opened the batting for Ireland.
Ireland were having problem to face the Bangladeshi bowlers from the very beginning. The first pver was a maiden from Rubel and Mustafizur Rahman came to bowl in the 2nd over.
He strike in 3rd ball of his first over with a magnificent delivery. The cutter master bowled wide outside off-stump and Stirling edged the ball to short third man and Sabbir Rahman caught that beautifully. Dangerous Stirling had to go back to the dressing room for a duck.
After 6 excellent over from Rubel and Mustafiz, Mashrafe came to bowl and he created a chance in his very first over. But, Mosaddek in cover failed to catch that ball hit by Porterfield.
Cricket is funny game and it was proved again when Porterfield was dismissed in the very next over and the bowler was Mosaddek Hossain who dropped his catch earlier.
After that dismissal, Joyce and Balbirnie tried to make a partnership and started to bat slowly for rebuilding the innings. But, Shakib had a different idea in mind who broke that partnership with a quicker. His straight delivery was not understood by Balbirnie and that broke his stumps.
That was the 2nd ball of 14th over and Ireland were in much pressure at that moment on 61 for the loss of 3 valuable wickets. Joyce and Niall O’Brien tried to rebuilt the innings from that point.
They were playing carefully and brilliantly. They added 55 runs in the 4th wicket stand and looked dangerous with their approach. Mustafizur Rahman showed his pure class after that.
He quickly picked up three wickets of Niall O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien and Wilson while left-arm spinner, Sunzamul Islam took his first international wicket for Bangladesh.
From 116/3, Ireland suddenly lost 4 wickets within 20 runs and they were on 136 for the loss of 7 wickets in 34th over. After that collapse, Dockrell and McCarthy tried hard to put some runs on the board.
They managed to add 35 runs in the 8th wicket stand and that was brave work from two late order batsmen. Debutant Sunzamul Islam came back into the attack in 44th over and he broke that partnership with a quicker delivery in the 2nd delivery.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team management excluded Mehedi Hasan Miraz from the squad and picked Sunzamul Islam for that place. So, the left-arm spinner is playing his first international match for Bangladesh. On the other hand, Ed Joyce was fit and back in the Ireland squad.
