In their first match of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2017, Bangladesh have defeated Hong Kong convincingly by 8 wickets at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
At the beginning, Mominul Haque lost the toss and Hong Kong elected to bat first. While batting, they couldn’t had a great start and their middle order collapsed too.
They lost wicket in regular succession. The captain of emerging cup’s team for Bangladesh, Mominul Haque and vice-captain, Nasir Hossain picked three wickets each and damaged the batting line-up of Hong Kong.
For Hong Kong, Babar Hayat scored 37 runs which remained as the highest and Nizakat scored 27 runs. At the end, they lost all the wickets after scoring only 125 runs.
Ahead of this small target, Tigers required only 16.1 overs to reach their target and opener, Saif made that target easy with an unbeaten knock of 57. Meanwhile, Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 24 runs.
Azmir and Mominul were the only batsmen to get out. At the end, Bangladesh had a eight wickets victory in their first match of the tournament.
The net match of team Tigers will be held on 28th March against Nepal at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground, Cox’s Bazar.
