After a not so satisfying day with the bat, Bangladesh team has restarted their fight in the 2nd and final test against New Zealand in Christchurch.

Bangladesh managed to score 289 runs in their first innings of the match by playing the whole first day. Taskin Ahmed was given the new ball to start the 2nd day while Miraj started bowling from the other end. Jeet Raval and Tom Latham have came to bat in the opening stand for the Blackcaps.

Jeet Raval was really lucky in the beginning as his catches were dropped two times. Mahmudullah and Sabbir dropped his catches while he was on 2 and 6.

Then, Latham and Raval started to play fluently and the pair added 45 runs in the opening stand. They were looking dangerous at that time and then Kamrul Islam Rabbi came to bowl.

Rabbi bowled Raval with a cracking delivery and then Williamson was gone too in the same over. Kiwi skipper couldn’t play Rabbi’s out-swinger properly and gave catch to the wicket-keeper. Currently, experienced Ross Taylor is batting with inform Tom Latham.

Earlie,in the first day, New Zealand had a super start while bowling and Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal disappointed the fans in the beginning. Mahmudullah and Tamim got out with in 11 overs of the match.

After their departure, it was Soumya Sarkar who started to play brilliantly in his first test match as an opener. Soumya made 127 runs partnership with Shakib Al Hasan in the 3rd wicket stand.

But, Soumya got out after scoring 86 runs and his departure opened the gate for Kiwi bowlers. Within 15 runs, Bangladesh lost two more wickets. Shakib got out after scoring 59 runs and Sabbir scored 7 before getting out.

Then, two debutants, Nazmul Hasan Shanto and Nurul Hasan Sohan showed great bit of bravery in the middle and they fought very hard. This partnership added a fifty run stand which gave Bangladesh strength to reach a respected total.

Nazmul Hasan Shanto scored just 18 runs from 56 balls but that was valuable. After his departure Sohan continued his patient fight along with the tail-enders. Miraj failed again but Taskin and Rabbi supported him in a steady way.

Sohan was steady throughout his innings and at the end Kamrul Islam Rabbi was fantastic. After scoring valuable 47 runs, Nurul Hasan got out. On the other hand, Kamrul Islam Rabbi played 63 balls.

At the very end, Rubel Hossain played some excellent boundaries which took Bangladesh’s first innings total to 289 runs. But, the worry for them will be Rubel’s injur. Rubel Hossain got hurt in his right elbow by Boult’s delivery.

New Zealand will be eagerly trying to make it nine wins in a row for the domestic international season, after sweeping the Tests against Pakistan and the ODI and T20 series and the first Test against Bangladesh

Bangladesh made four changes as they dealt with an injury crisis that left them without their captain Mushfiqur Rahim and two top-order batsmen in Imrul Kayes and Mominul Haque.

They brought in two debutants in the left-hand middle-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto and the wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan, and brought Soumya Sarkar back into the side to open for the first time in Test cricket, alongside the stand-in captain Tamim Iqbal. Rubel Hossain, meanwhile, replaced Subhashis Roy in their three-man pace attack.
