NZ win the toss and choose to bowl in Wellington. Boult is back, Henry is out. Taskin and Subashis debut for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, are playing their first overseas Test since September 2014. The last time they won an away game was in 2013 v Zimbabwe in a T20I (outside of the 20-over and 50-over World Cups). Mushfiqur has laid down the marker for his batting line-up: to bring their overall consistency of home matches to an away Test match.
Bangladesh, though, will welcome back the experience of their captain Mushfiqur, who sustained a hamstring injury while batting in the Boxing Day ODI. Similarly, New Zealand will be pleased to welcome back Boult, who missed the second Test against Pakistan last year due to a knee injury, and Taylor, who missed the Chappell-Hadlee ODI in Australia and the subsequent limited-overs series at home v Bangladesh because of a growth in his left eye.
He is just one hundred away from joining his mentor Martin Crowe at the top of this list.
