Rabada’s six wicket haul brings series win for South Africa

South Africa completed an emphatic 282 run victory over Sri Lanka on day four of the second Test at Newlands and clinched the series as Kagiso Rabada took 6 wickets for 55 runs. 

The hosts set up a mammoth target of 507 runs for the visitors in the third day of the match.

In the day four Sri Lanka resumed their innings with 130 runs for 4 while they still needed 377 runs to win.

But in the 32nd ball of the match Kagiso Rabada strike first and when Dinesh Chandimal picked out by Stephen Cook at short leg.

Meanwhile, Lankan middle order batsman Upul Tharanaga tried to play aggressively but didn’t manage to stay at the crease for long time.  He was caught behind off Rabada for only 12 runs.

After that Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews dismissed by Rabada again for just one run short from his fifty.

Rabada wrapped up his second ten wicket haul when he dismissed Suranga Lakmal for 10 runs.

Then Lahiru Kumara was stumped off the bowling of Keshav Maharaj before Vernon Philander ended the match by castling Nuwan Pradeep, Sri Lanka were 224 all out.

It should be noted that this is the highest victory over Sri Lanka for the Proteas.
