Tigers had their 100th win in ODI with Saturday’s 141-run win over Afghanistan and they clinched the series by winning that match too. Mashrafe in the press told that they tried not to repeat the mistake done in the 2nd match where they lost to the Brave Afghan Side.
In response to the questions from journalists, Mashrafe said: “First of all, we wanted to begin carefully by taking a bright look to the wicket to know how it behaves and then play with our plans. When the batsmen realized they could make runs at this wicket, then they started their normal game.”
He added, “From there, the way we played in the last match, there is still room for improvement, we wanted to play it from the beginning. I hope we can use this confidence to get better. ”
Mashrafe is taking the series against England very seriously as it is going to be really tough. Mashrafe said, “I think it’s a good thing we were able to win the series after losing the second match. I’m happy to get out of the pressure of loosing. The series in front of it is even more challenging. I hope we will have the opportunity to play with confidence.”
Mashrafe fell in the ground suddenly in the middle of the match while bowling. He later returned to the field again and strongly continued his leading from the front. Whole Bangladesh was worried at that moment and started praying but Mashrafee doesn’t think it as a serious one.
He said, “I came back and bowled with short run ups. I cannot say anything yet. There is hope that the pain will be OK. I had the fear of injury from morning but hopefully I’ll be okay.”
Mashrafe is happy for the performances of Taijul and Mosharraf.
He said, “In fact, both are very good. Of course, I think Taijul has much better record. Taijul bowled really well in the first two matches but we took Mosharraf for the third match due to some reasons. We have to think differently sometimes. “
