In the last match of the three match ODI series against Afghanistan,Bangladesh won by 141 runs and also got a series victory. In thsi match Tamim Iqbal’s brilliant knock lifted Bangladesh to a grand total of 279 runs.
Tamim played an outstanding innings of 118 runs from 118 balls after getting a second chance from Asghar Stanikzai who missed an easy catch during the second over of the match.
Earlier Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss and elected to bat first. After coming to bat, along with Soumya Sarkar Tamim Iqbal made a partnership of 23 runs. Soumya went out for 11 runs and the partnership broke down.
After the departure of Soumya, Sabbir had taken the charge with Tamim. Tamim and Sabbir made a outstanding partnership of 140 runs and lifted Bangladesh from danger.
Sabbir managed to score 65 runs and caught out by Nawroz Mangal. Ace all-rounder of Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan came to the crease then and along with him centurion Tamim made a partnership of 49 runs which helped Bangladesh to cross 200 runs. Tamim brought his seventh century in his ODI career from 110 balls.
After making his century, Tamim started hitting hard. In the 37th over of Rahmat Shah, Tamim hit a four and in that over he hit two consecutive sixes.
However, after scoring 118 runs Afghan spinner Mohammad Nabi took the wicket of Tamim and his maverick innings came to an end.
Within just 14 runs Shakib also got out. After that a cameo innings of 32 runs from just 22 balls of Mahmudullah took Bangladesh to 279 runs. None of the batsmen can managed to score big.
For Afghanistan Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets while Mirwais Ashraf, Dawlat Zadran and Rahmat Shah and got 1 wicket each.
