India fell just one run short of the record breaking run chase against West Indies in the 1st T20 International at Lauderhill. It wasn’t just about the run-fest in the United States.
A number of records were broken as both teams produced a whooping total of 489 runs in the opening match of the series.
The scorecard at the end of 40-overs turned out to be the highest ever aggregate in a T20 match. Here are some of the other records which were broken on Saturday night.
West Indies openers scored freely from the start and put on an impressive 126 runs in just 9.3 overs to set up a base for a big score. Johnson Charles was the wrecker-in-chief during the first half, hitting 33-ball 79 which included seven massive sixes and six fours, before Evin Lewis joined the party after the first wicket.
Lewis raced to hundred in just 48 balls as Windies reached 200 in just 15.1 overs. He hit 5 massive sixes in Stuart Binny’s over.
In the end, they posted a massive 245/6, their highest in T20Is, and overall the third highest in the world.
