Like the male team, Bangladesh’s women’s team have been out of action since the World T20, which had been ended in April. But after a long break in September they will be touring Ireland.
The Tigress will be playing two T20Is against Ireland on September 5 and 6 respectively. Then these two team will lock horns in the ODIs on September 8 and 10. All the matches will be held at Bready Cricket Club in Londonderry.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury sees this tour as an opportunity for the Women’s team to flourish their skills and learn to play effectively overseas.
“I want to thank Cricket Ireland for arranging this tour. Without any doubt this tour will be beneficial for our girls. We had to shorten the duration of this tour, but credit goes to Cricket Ireland as they have arranged things for us within this limited period of time,” he said.
“We don’t get matches overseas that much so it will be a good lesson for the team to polish their skills; I hope they will make this tour a memorable one. Both the teams are going in almost a same pace for preparing themselves for the qualifier round in World Cup. This will be very good preparation heading into the qualifiers, scheduled for Thailand next year,” he added
