Rafique offered coaching role
Mohammad Rafique can’t find a good spinner in Bangladesh
Former Bangladesh slow-left arm bowler Mohammad Rafique has been offered an opportunity to be a spin coach in the high-performance or youth sector of the country’s cricket team.
The legendary spinner stated that he was hoping to get an offer like this and hopes that the people of the country will be happy with his appointment, just as he is.
'I was hoping for such a proposal for a while now. But I think it was God's wish to give me this chance at this time. I am very happy and I am sure that the people of Bangladesh will be happy with this."
Rafique, who took a century of wickets in Test cricket while representing Bangladesh, was confident with the board’s choice of selecting him and also added that he doesn’t find a good spinner in the country.
'I can't find a good spinner in Bangladesh. The board made a good decision to appoint me. I will work with them.’
Finally, he opined that Bangladesh have given him a lot and that he wishes to repay the country with his service.
'This country has given me a lot but I still have a lot to repay [to the country]. I hope that wherever I am given a role, I will be successful.’
Mohammad Rafique is among the players that put Bangladesh on the cricketing map. He played in 33 Test matches to take 100 wickets while also taking 125 scalps in as many ODI matches.
