Man of the Match : Mahmudullah (Khulna Titans)

Khulna Titans grabbed their first win in the AKS BPL T20 2017 ending Sylhet Sixers’s 3-match winning streak. It was the last match at Sylhet for this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Khulna Titans won the toss and decided to bowl first at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. Unlike the first three matches, this time Sylhet lost the wicket of opener Andre Fletcher on 19. At 67 for 4, Sixers were in deep trouble.

But skipper Nasir Hossain and Ross Whiteley’s 57 runs partnership in the 5th wicket helped Sixers to post a formidable total of 135 for 6 in 20 overs. Nasir remained not out 47 off 35 balls.

Mahmudullah and Jefra Archer shared 2 wickets each for the Titans. Chasing 136, Khulna Titans had a poor start as they lost 2 wickets for 19. But some sensible batting from Michael Klinger, Mahmudullah and a quick-fire knock of Craig Braithwaite gave Titans a compressive 6-wicket win with 12 balls remaining. Klinger played an unbeaten knock of 47.

Taijul picked up 3 wickets for 19 for Sixers. Mahmudullah was named man of the match for his all-round performance with the both bat and ball. BCB
