BCB announce 23-member HP squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board rewarded the top Dhaka Premier League performers with a position in the 23-member High Performance Core squad announced on Sunday for a 16-week long training programme.

Saif Hassan and Naim Sheikh, who were the top two run-getters in the recently-concluded Dhaka Premier League, were named in HP squad while BKSP’s young spinner Hasan Murad was also included in the squad after his brilliant performances of 22 wickets in 13 matches.

The training programme will start from May 18 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur while the players will report at the BCB National Cricket Academy on May 17.

HP Core squad:

Saif Hassan, Naim Sheikh, Fardeen Hossain, Sabbir Hossain, Afif Hossain, Zakir Hasan, Nazmul Hossain, Yasir Ali, Aminul Islam Biplob, Sumon Khan (specialist batsmen), Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Jaker Ali (specialist wicket-keepers), Minhajul Abedin Afridi, Tanvir Islam, Hasan Murad, Nayeem Hasan (spinners), Robiul Haque, Manik Khan, Shahidul Islam, Mukidul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Ifran Hossain, Shafiqul Islam (pacers).
