Aliss Islam, Bangladesh Premier League’s first bowler to achieve a hat-trick said that he was confident of making a comeback despite missing three catches earlier and even when he was hit for two successive fours in the first two deliveries of his last over.
‘’Actually it was my first match of BPL. To be frank it was my first match in a stadium. I was, literally, too nervous. But after dropping the catches the teammates supported me to a great extent and so did the coach. Everybody provided me with enough strength. Consequently, I believed that if I could place the ball at the right place then something positive might take place. I just wanted to bowl at the right place,’’ said Alliss.
Aliss brought back Dynamites back into the game by removing Rossouw that also ended his 121-run third wicket partnership with Mohammad Mithun to stop Riders from advancing to victory without any problem had his share of bad luck when he dropped a few catches.
Aliss dismissed Mithun (49), Mashrafee bin Murtaza (0) and Farhad Reza (0) to complete his hat-trick while proved his real class as he kept his cool in the final over while defending 14 runs despite Shafiul Islam hit him for two fours in the first two balls of the last over.
‘’Actually, I bowled the first two balls outside the stump and Shofiul bhai scored as he got on his comfort zone and at that point I was thinking to bowl to the stamp. However, I had that self-confidence that I could make it,’’ said Aliss adding skipper Shakib al Hasan encouraged him during his history making over when he claimed the hat-trick.
‘’Shakib bhai just said was that it was going all good, just keep placing the ball at the right place,’’ said Aliss
