Comilla Victorians coach Mohammad Salahuddin revealed that Steven Smith kept everybody involved in the match so much so that Tamim Iqbal complained in the tone of quipping that ‘Smith made me running all the time.’
According to Salahuddin it was really positive that a captain who was too passionate to win the game even he can’t be acquainted with the players as of now.
“Tamim faced a lot of hardship today,” said Salahuddin. “He said, Sir Smith made me running throughout the ground so much. It is actually positive because he kept involved all in the match. I understand the sufferings of the players but those who are good fielders would have to be in running always (in T20) cricket.”
“He is really experienced and he is keen to do well here. So we have to adjust with him and he also needs to adjust with us. The quicker he copes with the team environment, the better it is for him.”
Salahuddin pointed out Smith’s imagination powers as the good thing of his character.
“He is a good thinker of the game. He actually assesses always what will happen after two overs, which is impressive,” Salahuddin added.
“It is always tough to co-ordinate the local and overseas players in such tournament. For the sake of the team everybody needs to adjust with everybody. But I think Smith is also positive in this regard.”
