Ziaur stars in Khulna's comeback

||Desk Report||

Khulna Division gained a 50-run lead over Barisal Division on a rain-curtailed third day’s play in their Tier 1 clash in the National Cricket League.

Khulna made a great comeback after losing five wickets before even reaching the 100-run mark, as Ziaur Rahman shared two crucial partnerships with Mohammad Mithun and Afif Hossain on the second and the third day of the match, respectively.

Ziaur got dismissed off the very last ball before rain interrupted the day which saw 41.1 overs being bowled. By then, he already had 112 runs to his name along with a 106-run stand with Mithun and another 155-run partnership with Afif, who has scored 81 runs so far.

Afif will resume the innings for Khulna on the fourth and final day of the match.

Another Tier 1 clash between Sylhet Division and Chittagong Division saw the second and the third day's play getting called off without a ball being bowled due to rain. Chittagong finished at the first day at a score of 282/9 and will resume the innings from there on day-3.

Both the Tier 1 matches in the second round are heading towards a draw like the first round.

(After day-3)

Barisal Division – 299/10

Khulna Division – 349/7 *

Khulna Division lead by 50 runs
